Here we have a magical category of places to visit. Let's say they are not fairytales, but require a degree of faith. We could anyway say that actually all of Bosnia and Herzegovina is magical and should be included in this section. I've been more selective than these people and present just three destinations, or should I say curiosities.
We have alien pyramids, an apparition of the Virgin Mary, and some very real wild horses you can visit (perhaps the most magical?). So read on, and think about adding some of these magical experiences to your itinerary.
Archaeological Park: Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun
According to the description that pops up at the right on Google when you search for this location, the Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun is "a pseudoarchaeological notion to explain the formation of a cluster of natural hills in the area of Visoko in central Bosnia and Herzegovina." This is a very accurate description in my opinion. BUT, this doesn't stop you from visiting and pretenting it is real and having a wonderful time while you are at it.
The name of these pyramids has essentially been built by an amateur archaeologist who announced their discovery in 2005. He claims they are the among the oldest and largest pyramids in the world and were built by early Europeans. Suffice to say: experts contest his claims. Critics also say that the project site absorbs limited resources for genuinue archaeological work in Bosnia as well as inflicts damage to possible genuinue archaeological sites.
All this considered, there are souvenir stands (and a whole tourist industry in fact) and you can take a tour and enter inside the 'pyramid' through excavated (dug) tunnels. Some guides even offer spiritual experiences claiming a high concentration of negative ions in the tunnels contribute to health and well-being. It is also said that Djokovic (the tennis player) has spent hours meditating in there. I cannot vouch for this, any health benefits, nor for the safety of the tunnels.

Allegedly the worlds largest and oldest pyramids
More likely a pseudo architectural location promoted for tourists
Located by the old town of Visoki, just outside Visoko, just 45 minutes drive from Sarajevo
Međugorje became an unoffical place of Catholic pilgrimage in 1981 following the alleged apparition of the Virgin Mary in the presence of six teenagers. Međugorje is a small town south of Mostar that has a big name in the Catholic pilgrimage world: it's actually one of the most visited Catholic pilgrimage sites in the world.
The Pope has since authorized pilgrimages due to the "considerable flow of people who go to Međugorje and the abundant fruits of grace that have sprung from it." The town itself has built a large tourist industry around the tale.
You can visit the main church in the town and walk up to the place where the original apparitions are said to have taken place, on what is called Apparition Hill. There is a good chance you will encounter some very spiritual people on the way.

An unofficial place of Catholic Pilgrimage
The site of the alleged apparition of the Virgin Mary
Located about half an hour south west of Mostar by car (also located very close to some wineries)
Livno is a small town in the west of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It's rural, remote, not much to see there. That is except for the wild horses that roam around a plateau situated south of Mt. Cincar. There are several hundred of these wild horses (they were apparently freed at some point in the '70s).
You can find a number of tours that will take you to where the horses are most often found and you might even be able to get close enough to feed them.

Horses, in the wild, kind of like safari
Close to Livno, a three hour drive west of Sarajevo
Outside the town of Zavidovići, courtesy of the abovementioned archaeologist, a giant stone sphere has been labled as on eof the oldest stone spheres made by humans. It's probably the result of natural geological processes. You decide. Read more about the giant stone here.
